My 2nd Conformation Show in Koenigswinter / Germany, May 2004
The preparations for this show topped everything I had been through before. The hair on my paws was cut and the Friday before the show I was washed with coconut-shampoo. That still falls under the category "normal".
My wonderful fringes at my face and ears were trimmed too. Mistress started calling me "baby-face" and said I looked cute. Mmh ... I still think I look better with all my hair ... More cheeky and saucy and not so unendingly well behaved ...
And ... my coat was dried ... That was not necessarily grooming (though Mistress used the drier to subdue some of my unruly waves). She just did not want to spend time making my lay in a way that would not produce more unruly hair. I thought it was funny and could not stand still. The air was tickling me so much.
Saturday morning Mistress crawled out of bed at 5.30 am. Half an hour later she succeeded in getting Master out of La-la-land too. At 7.00 am she carried a basket filled with stuff we would mostly not need to the car. Arriving in Koenigswinter an hour later, Mistress got our papers. Then it was time to wait and watch as usual. Since it was very cold Mistress was delighted that my friends Smokey, Medley and young Shani were sitting in their cozy trailer. We invited ourselves for a cup of coffee and spend the day with them.
Until the brake nothing special happened. After that Mistress set to work on my coat again. It was far too early, as we noticed later. The class "Bitches Intact Novice" was called to the ring at 5.00 pm.
Then we entered sorted by numbers. I was going in third position. To stick to the truth I dragged on the leash like mad. I "galloped" next to Mistress so that the judges could not see my usually beautiful trot. I presented my self like a statue and did not move when the judge felt me. But since I puled don my leash again during the next gait test I was not placed ...
We left the ring and I got my treat. Mistress praised me for presenting myself so nicely despite the "bees in my behind"...
