How I found my half brother Merlin
Ok, Ok I admit I did not help all that much ... ;-)
At the beginning of October 2003 Mistress connected with an Aussie mailing list in the Netherlands (I don´t know where she´s got her curiosity from ...). To understand Dutch is no problem for Mistress but she can´t read and write it. Since she did not know she would be understood when writing in German she only read the mails at first. Until the day somebody wrote that my grand sire Starstuff Still Crazy had been admitted to the Hall of Fame. This news prompted Mistress to write something in that list. She introduced us and hoped she would be understood.
It did not long for welcome messages in Dutch and German to flow in. Some people wrote they had other "kids" of my sire Jack. Among them Merlin´s human. E-mails started to go back and forth. Merlin´s human was very good in writing German. (What luck.) Mistress was full of questions including the way conformation shows were held in the Netherlands. Since Mistress did not have the time to read through every mail she shifted the conversation with Merlin´s human to the private level. The question/answer game delighted (and still delights) both humans. They got very curios for the other and decided to meet personally.
They decided to go the same show at the beginning of 2004. Mistress thought she ought to go to an other Dutch conformation show first. Incidentally there was the "De Winner" show in Amsterdam that December. Merlin´s human invited us to stay with them in Almere for the show. We were delighted and curios to get to know my half brother Merlin, his buddy Shadow and their family ...
