Things I have to say ...What is said here in a happy go lucky manner should not fool anybody (on the contrary !) that it takes responsibility and work, money and (sometimes) nerves to call such a dog ones "own". To get a dog is serious business and should never be done lightly. The responsibility coming with the cuddly puppy last a whole doggy live. That lasts often 10, 12 or more years. I want to beg you from the bottom of my heart to think about that !!! Nothing is worse for a dog, than loosing his Mistress / Master or to know that he is not wanted and not loved ... It is as bad to not do the dog justice, to not meet his needs, to not challenge and promote his abilities ... It is unthinkable for an Aussie to not have a task, no matter what. If you turn it the right way round everything can be the "job" of your Aussie ... I hope I will become the most ancient Aussie in the world for when my Mistress thinks about the day I will have to leave her, I see tears in her eyes ...
Here are some more stories around the subject (Mistress found them in the net),
